About Me

Beautiful lurcher Gertie has lived with her owners since she was puppy, but they have had to make the difficult decision to look for a new home for her because of her reactivity to the neighbour's dog and other dogs in the vicinity of their home. This has become a bit stressful for one person in the house. For some owners this would not be a problem because she can be led away from the other dog.

While Gertie can be reactive to dogs near her home, she is perfectly manageable on the lead and walks well when away from the area. In fact, she happily mixes with a group of dogs when out with her dog walker each week and enjoys their company without issue.

She loves people and can be left in a crate with the door open for about 4 hours with no problem at all. She is playful and has a lovely personality. Gertie has not lived with children, but could live with respectful children that are over 10 years old. She isn't suited to living with cats and she needs to be the only dog in the home.

Gertie lives a quiet house in a very rural location and her owner feels that she would be better living in a village or town. She needs a secure garden where she can run and play. Gertie loves the beach, but her owner uses a 10 metre dog lead because she has a high prey drive. She also loves a run in the local dog park.

Gertie's owner would love to meet any potential adopters in person at his home to help ensure the best possible match. He would also like to visit the potential adopters home.

Gertie is in excellent health and has been spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She lives in East Lothian and can be re-homed in the Lothians, Edinburgh, Northumberland, Scottish Borders. A vets reference will also be required.

If you may be able to give Gertie a home, please ring her owner Graham on 7557940830 or e-mail graham.lastdays@gmail.com
