Tiernan has recently arrived in our care from Ireland. He is about 4 years old and an extremely sweet boy. His foster Mom tells us…. “I think Monty (as we call him) should be an only dog, he's certainly enjoying getting all the attention. He's very polite with dogs he's met but doesn't seem interested in playing with them. There are no negatives with this lovely boy. He just wants to be loved. His tail started wagging the moment he arrived. He is keen for his human pack to be with him at all times. He gives a little whine when one of you leaves but soon settles again. Because we were told he will follow you everywhere, we have tried to give him some independence and he has always settled well in his crate. He is a dream to walk, no pulling and has so far been controllable when he sees something he wants to chase. We have had to set some boundaries with food (basically he thinks everything is his including drinks) and he has responded very well to this. In the morning he is so keen for a cuddle, he doesn't even finish his breakfast before he is bounding up the stairs to get onto our bed. Everyone he has met he has been confident with, except for one man. The guy did nothing wrong and had a very gentle approach but Monty backed off completely and you could see he was scared. He would probably make the perfect office dog, he settles lovely when I am working from home. He is also a champion fly catcher! He's like a Venus Flytrap! He's probably a little too good and I can see him getting stung - we managed to rescue a bee from inside his mouth yesterday. It's lovely seeing his progress every day as we are learning more and more about him. He certainly is the perfect dog and is a credit to everyone who has helped him so far. He travels well in the car, is totally clean in the house and responds well to his name.” Tiernan is about 24 inches to the shoulder and weighs about 20 kg. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready for his forever home now. He is in foster in East Sussex.
