The stunning Salem is a charismatic and friendly ex-racing Greyhound who is officially raring to trade the track for a cosy spot on your sofa. At almost 4 years old, he is a gentle soul with a heart of gold and a sweet personality that shines through the moment you meet him. Salem absolutely thrives on human connection and is a true expert at leaning in for deep cuddles and affection. He is also a champion sniffer who delights in investigating new scents, especially if they lead him toward a tasty treat. He is a truly endearing companion who is simply looking for a place where he can be cherished as a member of the family. One of Salem’s most adorable quirks is his love for his toys, and he is incredibly gentle with his stuffies. He treats his soft toys like treasures, carefully collecting them to live in his bed where he uses them as little pillows for his afternoon naps. When it comes to social time, Salem is quite the gentleman and enjoys the company of like-minded dogs who share his calm mindset and stature. As he finds so much comfort in canine companionship, we believe that following a successful introduction Salem may be able to share his forever home with a female sighthound who can show him the ropes of retired life. As a sensitive lad who is still learning about the world outside of racing, Salem is looking for a patient and kind family who will allow him the time he needs to adapt to a new routine. Due to his background as a racer, a home without cats or small animals is a must to keep everyone safe and relaxed. We also feel that Salem would be best suited to an environment with adults or families with teenagers who can provide a calm atmosphere.
