About Me

Sunny is a 10-year-old male lurcher with a sensitive soul and a quiet nature. He can be anxious around new people at first, but once trust is built, he forms strong bonds with his carers, and his sunny personality starts to shine through. When Sunny feels safe, he shows his affectionate side and is a true champion leaner, enjoying quiet closeness with the people he knows well. Sunny is a big foodie, and we have found this to be his best motivator, he is especially fond of liver paste, which has been a great help when building our relationship with him.

Sunny has lived a very sheltered life with limited experiences, so he will need time and patience to adjust to everyday routines. A calm, predictable environment suits him best, where reassurance and kindness help him feel secure.

Walks are best kept short and local, as he struggles with travel and benefits from rest days. A garden is a must, so this older gentleman can bathe in the sun when he isn’t feeling a long stroll. He would also benefit from physiotherapy to help keep him comfortable and supported.

Sunny has a high prey drive and can find dogs running around quite exciting. He prefers to have his own space while out walking and is happiest walking among calmer canine companions rather than interacting closely. Due to his prey drive and slight reactivity towards certain dogs he is to be walked on lead and muzzled.

Sunny is looking for an adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He is not suitable to live with other dogs, cats, or small furries. In the right calm and understanding home, Sunny will make a loyal and affectionate companion who is ready to enjoy life at his own pace.
