Ross is a handsome 4-year-old male greyhound who is adjusting beautifully to life beyond the racetrack. He’s swapping racing silks for soft beds and discovering the joys of the pampered pooch lifestyle and he’s sliding right into it with that classic greyhound elegance. Having had no experience of the outside world Ross is still acclimatising to a different routine and walking in the local areas, but he’s learning quickly and taking it all in stride. Everyday sights, sounds, and routines are new to him, so he’ll need a patient, understanding home that’s happy to guide him as he continues to figure things out. Having never been in a home environment before, he will need someone to teach him the ropes of living in a family home, Ross is often found stretched out on his bed enjoying a snooze and would love to carry this on with his new family. True to his breed and background, Ross has a high prey drive, fast movement is very exciting, so he will need to be walked on lead and muzzled during his walks. Making use of rented paddocks will allow him to stretch his legs without his new owners needing to watch out for distractions that could impact his recall. Ross is an affectionate boy with a permanently waggy tail whenever he sees you. He adores human company and is especially motivated by food and treats (the way to his heart is definitely through his stomach!). Toys are still a bit of a mystery to him but discovering them could be a fun journey for his future family. Ross would be happy to live with either a female sighthound or as a lone pampered pooch, as well as with children over the age of 10 years old. Due to his breed Ross would be unable to live with cats or small furries. This boy would love to find a kind understanding home that could help him on his new journey as a part of a family.
