About Me

Black-Jack, 3-year-old Saluki-Bull-greyhound cross needs a new home
Black Jack was recently found tied up outside an unmanned police station in Lancashire. He was very underweight and carrying a few scars -thank goodness a couple of Rural Crimes Officers happened to pop by and found him, we don't know how long he had been there 😢.
Luckily for Black Jack his microchip details had Lurcher Link as a contact, so after a desperate scramble some wonderful volunteers picked him up and returned him to our care.
Black Jack originally found himself in the care of Lurcher Link in 2019 when his disabled owner found him just too big and bouncy for her and her two elderly spaniels.
Black Jack is probably too clumsy to live with children or frail people at the moment. He used to walk nicely alongside a mobility scooter in his first home; had good recall indoors, was housetrained and crate trained too and travels well in a car. He was just too big and bouncy for his owner. Hopefully, with a bit of ‘revision training’, these behaviours should come back.
His first owner reported that he knows the commands sit, down and paw; he’s a very quick learner and very affectionate.
Black Jack has been used to living with cats and other dogs in the past but who knows what has happened since then – we think he should be an only dog or maybe he could live with an older, laid-back bitch. His previous owner reported that he had started to chase the cat as he got older, so we don't think he should live with cats again.
We have noticed he seems to have an intense dislike of hairy dogs, so definitely needs to wear a muzzle when out. Parks full of shih-tzus and labradoodles will not suit him.
Black Jack is neutered and microchipped
