Dog of the Week

Fido

Age: 6 years | Dog | Lurcher

Rescue: Margaret Green Animal Rescue, Dorset

Are you looking for a new buddy to explore and make memories with? If your answer is yes, then Fido wants to be your new best friend! This dog has the biggest heart and the sweetest of natures – combined together this means everyone he meets falls head over heels in love with him. Fido is a 6-year-old cross breed lurcher type who weighs around 30kg, but you really wouldn’t believe he was this big when you seem him all curled up next to you on the sofa or loyally at your feet in a snuggly bed. He also walks well on his lead and really is a gentle sweet soul who is ever so eager to please his favourite humans. Whilst he has been in our care, we have taken him on some forest and countryside walks of which he loved every minute and particularly enjoyed taking in the scenery and stopping to greet new friends. Fido is a sociable chap, and he has been really comfortable mixing with other dogs so we think he’d be happy sharing his new home with canine buddies. As he does have some sighthound in his mix, we think that he’d be better suited to a home without cats. Another favourite thing for Fido is resting his head in our laps to enjoy being told how handsome he is whilst we make a fuss of him – you can see why he is such a firm favourite amongst the staff and volunteers can’t you?! We think this lovely affectionate and fun-loving lad will enjoy living with children aged 5 and upwards and can’t wait to introduce him to his new forever family.
