Bracken is a stunning black and tan Saluki cross who is just over a year old and 27” in height. This lovely sweet boy was abandoned and running out of time in a dog pound before being given a safe place. He is a really adorable sensitive hound who is now looking for his very own happy ever after so if you think you could be that special family please get in touch.
Location: Bracken is currently in a foster home on the Cambridge/Bedfordshire border.
Key Points: Beautiful graceful boy, sweet, sensitive, can be shy and nervous around new dogs and people, loves to run and play, good with other dogs, good in the car and on lead, clean in the home, asks to go out by pacing near the door, sleeps through the night and can be left a couple of hours with at least one other dog for company.
~ Personality ~
Bracken is a really sweet and sensitive boy who needs a family who can continue his training and give him the confidence and time he needs. He really enjoys learning and is currently attending training classes with his foster Mum which he is doing very well in. Bracken loves running and playing with his toys and once he trusts you will never decline a tummy rub! Just a gorgeous boy who will be so sweet and cheeky when he relaxes into his new home.
~ In the Home ~
Bracken is a very good boy in the home and is clean and will pace near a door when he needs to go out. As you can see he very much enjoyed watching Crufts on the TV! He sleeps through the night and can be left with other dogs for company.
~ Other Animals ~
Bracken is good with other dogs he knows but can sometimes be a little scared of new dogs but he soon wants to play when he realises they mean him no harm. He is currently living with 5 lurchers and greyhounds and good with them all, but he can be over exuberant at times.
~ Out and About ~
Bracken is very good in the car and on the lead. He loves being out and about and is small dog friendly. The only time he can get worried is if it's really busy and noisy so his new family will need to reassure him. He is currently having two good walks a day and lots of play time but can have longer / more walks with an active family. He would also benefit from a chance to stretch his legs off lead a couple of times a week once he has bonded with his new owners. This would need to be in an enclosed area away from livestock and public roads.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
We feel Bracken will most definitely need at least one other dog for company and a family who have the time to let him settle and give him the confidence he needs. Older children are probably better as he can still be a little clumsy and knock a child over. He will also need a family where someone is home most of the time to show him the ropes and give him tummy tickles. Please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect him. Please be aware we do not home to families with children under 8 years of age.
~ Where Am I? ~
Bracken is currently in a foster home on the Cambridge/Bedfordshire border and we would love for him to find his forever family very soon.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Bracken is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed. A home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
