Santa the most special 18 month old lurcher boy who has had a hell of a few months. Santa found himself in Leigh Cats and Dogs Home as an unclaimed stray and was rehomed directly from there. Sadly Santa is a very very worried boy and having made a mess in the house was handled wrongly and told off scaring him and making him snap. Leigh asked us if we could help as they felt he would be better with a sighthound specialist rescue. Santa needs an understanding home with a gentle family willing to invest time into his settling.
He most definitely needs a home with another dog as some of Santas worry comes from being left entirely alone, I would hasten a guess he has never had a settled period yet in his short life. We would love to see Santa homed with a confident female, although he is fine with male dogs he could be easily bullied and react out of fear so we would prefer a no male household. Santa will need someone around all the time, someone who can gently with reward teach him to life is okay, that humans are okay and that sometimes when we make mistakes THAT is okay also. Santa wants to please, he is so desperate to find HIS people and he just wants to love and love in return. Santa needs a home without young children in preferably very sensible children 10 years and upwards. Santa will NOT be rehomed with cats as cat training and getting that right also would just be one more thing for this poor lad to be worried about. If you think you have the love and patience that dear Santa requires please do complete the pre adoption questionnaire below. He walks like a dream out on his walks and he also travels well.
Santa is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and will shortly be neutered now he is settling in here and is happier and less nervous. Santa is based in Stoke on Trent and any new family would need to visit him with any resident dogs.
