Beautiful Dixie (on the left in the photo) is looking for a new home due to absolutely no fault of her own. She is a lovely black and white girl of 3 years of age and 26" to the shoulder. Ideally we would like to re-home her together with Diego as they are bonded.

Location: Dixie is desperately seeking a new home or foster home with her companion Diego. They are currently still in their home in Norfolk but are seeking a new home ASAP due to a change in their owner’s circumstances and we really don't want them going into kennels if we can help it :(
Key Points: Incredibly pretty black and white girlie, bouncy, playful, funny, sensitive to loud noises and loves collecting shoes. Very responsive to basic commands, good with other dogs, good in the car and on the lead. Can be left for up to 4 hours with Diego.

~ Personality ~
Dixie is an adorable girl who loves to play with her toys, eat, sleep and repeat! She is also sensitive to loud raised voices but loves doing zoomies around the garden and then comes in for cuddles with her humans and Diego. She is loving and sweet and very responsive to basic commands.

~ In the Home ~
Dixie is great in the home. She is very responsive to basic training and always asks to go out and she currently sleeps through the night sharing a bed with Diego with no problems. They are like a little married couple with Dixie definitely wearing the trousers :) They can be left for up to 4 hours with no problems.

~ Other Animals ~
Dixie is good with other dogs but is unlikely to be cat friendly. She loves Diego, so ideally we are looking to home them together please.

~ Out and About ~
Dixie will need a minimum of two 30 minute walks a day and garden play with her toys or a shoe or two! She would also benefit from a chance to stretch her legs off lead a couple of times a week once she has bonded with her new owners. This would need to be in an enclosed area away from livestock and public roads.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Can I Live? ~
Dixie would prefer a fairly quite home with no young children where someone is around most of the time and we would very much like her to be homed with Diego if at all possible. Please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect her. Please also be aware we do not home to families with children under 8 years of age.

~ Where Am I? ~
Dixie is currently in her home in Norfolk but seeking a new home asap as her owners personal circumstances have changed. If anyone feels they could foster Dixie to save her having to go back into kennels please give us a call for an informal chat. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Dixie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed. A home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you would like to offer a new home for Dixie, please contact the rescue on 075 000 626 48 and ask for Bronwen or send them an email if available.
