Matrix - German Shepherd mix Lurcher boy - 4 years old being fostered in a family home with 4 other dogs, a cat and teenagers in Birmingham.

Matrix was found as a young dog with his sibling in Spain, his brother was lucky enough to find a home in Spain but Matrix never got his lucky break. Maybe because he was more nervous and never showed himself well, maybe because he is black but he would see dogs come and go but he never got his lucky break.

When I first met Matrix earlier this year for the first time, I knew his history and how he was constantly over looked but meeting him I had no idea why such a lovely boy he was living with Aunty Sherlie and was doing amazing this is the first video I took of him

This is another one of him playing with one of the younger ones

He settled into foster life quite easily and starting adjusting to living in the house, he was great with the other dogs and got used to living with a cat. His foster carer Sherlie returned later that year to UK and Matrix was transferred to kennels.

That was when I met him again at the new kennels he was at and again he was so lovely and I knew if we did not try help him and get him out and into foster it was never going to happen for him.

This is the video I took of him when I saw him last in Spain

So back to UK I came and convinced his lovely Aunty Sherlie who was now back in UK to foster Matrix and this lovely lady who has helped so many dogs in her time in Spain agreed.

Matrix arrived 6 weeks ago and is he is doing so well, to begin with he found the house quite scary but he is now so much more relaxed and if its just Sherlie in the house he was lay on the sofa with her and the other dogs, he adores his walks and is fab off the lead running with the other dogs, he is fine with new dogs and people he meets on these walks too, he has discovered squirrels and loves chasing them, he is a video of him searching for those funny little fuzzy creatures

and another of him out on his walks

Matrix has done really well and one to one when its just Sherlie in the house he is very confident but when her son is around he is still scared, he has obviously been abused by a male in the past and will hide under the table, never any aggression just scared, we are working on this and it is improving.

Matrix is house trained, he gets his confidence from living with the other dogs and would suit a home with another dog, he is fine with the cat, good on and off the lead and travels well in the car.
