Lizzie is a lovely black girl who was 8 years old at the end of August and 26" to the shoulder. Due to a change in circumstances and through absolutely no fault of her own she is seeking a new loving family.
Location: Lizzie is currently in a foster home in Norfolk
Key Points: Quiet, can be timid with strangers, really sweet girl, affectionate, loves cuddles, friendly, clean in home and asks to go out, response to basic training, great in the car and on the lead, sleeps through the night with no problems and can also be left up to 4 hours with canine company with no problems whatsoever. Can be a little nervous meeting other dogs and around small dogs which you must keep an eye on. Very pretty and has great teeth!
~ Personality ~
Lizzie is a really pretty and balanced girl with a really sweet nature, who although can be a little timid at times, asks for nothing more than a full tummy and to be loved. She curls up really small to squeeze onto the sofa or the chair and gives your hand an adorable little nibble if she wants more cuddles!
~ In the Home ~
Lizzie is clean in the home and asks to go out when she needs the toilet. She is very responsive to basic commands and just an easy girl to have around.
~ Other Animals ~
Lizzie is great with larger dogs and loves to play with her fellow canines in her foster home but can sometimes be nervous/timid around other dogs and particularly care must be taken around very small dogs as they can make her feel unsettled. Unfortunately Lizzie doesn't like cats.
~ Out and About ~
Lizzie LOVES her walks! She is also great both in the car and on the lead but can sometimes only pull slightly is she sees a small furry! Lizzie will need at least 2 x 30 minute walks a day and also garden playtime. She would also benefit from a chance to stretch her legs off lead a couple of times a week once she has bonded with her new owners. This would need to be in an enclosed area away from livestock and public roads.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Lizzie could easily fit into most family environments although can be frightened by sudden loud noises so ideally older children/teenagers would be preferable. Lizzie would like the company of at least one other gentle dog and would just love to live out her days being loved and cared for as she deserves. Please be aware we do home to families with children under 8 years of age.
~ Where Am I? ~
Lizzie is currently in a foster home in Norfolk where she is patiently awaiting a loving home offer.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Lizzie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
