Grannie, in the front in the photo, (known here as Annie) is a Saluki cross about 26” to the shoulder and about 6 years old. She is still quiet nervous and struggles around new people so will need a patient and understanding owner in a quiet calm household with no children. However she has a great many good traits that make her a very easy to live with.
She is totally house trained. Has no food or toy aggression and can be handled all over, (however scared, she would never dream of growling or nipping). Travels well in the car, even on long distances, quiet in the house, non destructive and can be left for several hours either crated or uncrated. She is not worried by loud noises and fireworks or the builders next door, but she is not a fan of the vacuum cleaner!
Going for walks is all new and exciting for Annie but when relaxed she walks very nicely on lead. She loves other dogs (any size, shape or temperament) but is so keen to say hallo when out she can be quite strong and pulls on the lead in her attempt to say Hallo.
I suspect she has a high prey drive and with her fearfulness she will be best only off lead in safe, enclosed areas, but she does love to run and will need a chance to stretch her legs some times.
Annie would be best homed with another confident dog, but being large and clumsy with no spatial awareness, nothing too frail or fragile!
Annie has made amazing progress in just a couple of weeks in foster with me and given time will make a wonderful, fun companion for the right owner.
She is in foster in Hampshire
