George is a handsome 4 year old galgo, originally from sunny Spain. He has been living in a UK home for about 2 years but unfortunately, his owner’s circumstances have changed dramatically and she is unable to keep him any longer. So George has come to us so we can find him a new home. Obviously, things will be a bit strange for George for a little while and especially at the moment – he is in new surroundings, with people he doesn’t know very well and his whole world has turned upside down. This will mean he might be a bit nervous of new people and will take a while to want to get to know you. But once he does, he will be his usual affectionate self and will be your friend forever. George is looking for a quiet home, with people who will offer him lovely walks but also space and calmness. With the right introductions, George can live with other dogs. He is also happy to live as an only dog as long as the owners are around quite a bit.
George is a fabulous dog but he has been through a lot of change lately so he needs owners who will think very carefully before adopting him so they know they are ready for the commitment.
During the national lockdown we can only rehome in Kent, East Sussex, Surrey, South London, East London, Essex and South Hertfordshire. This does change as the rules change so please always check our Covid statement on our Kent Greyhound rescue website. Please do not apply outside of these areas as we have to follow the Government's guidance to keep everyone safe. We can only homecheck using our key volunteers and these are the areas they cover. Once the National rules relax - our rules will follow. You need to travel to us and we need to travel to us - and we all need to keep this to an absolute minimum.
If you can apply you need to complete the online application form on our website - this is the quickest way to get a reply during lockdown.
All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated and vet checked. Most have lived in foster homes. We do ask for a donation and everything is explained in full on our website.
If you would like to give George a new home, please contact the rescue on 01303 271131 or 07542 795786 and ask for Julie or send an email using the form if available.
Please use the form to send a message directly to the rescue.
