Blue is 6 months old and a very lively puppy. Due to ill health his mum was unable to provide him with much training after she bought him so he has arrived at KGR. He arrived as a lurcher x rotti but we are pretty sure he has gun dog in him not rotti.
Like all pups Blue is a handful and very full on when he wants to be. He knows what boundaries he can push and he will push then. He is currently in a foster home with a lady who trains dogs (the kind way) and he is very good for her. But we know he is capable of abusing someone's good will if he can. You need to be firm but fair, set boundaries and explain what you want him to do. He is clever but you still have to show him what you want him to do.
Blue will need plenty of mental stimulation at home until he is older - then he will need plenty of exercise outdoors. He does need fit and active owners who are around a lot of the time and who are committed to following a puppy training programme.
Blue is a fabulous dog but he has been through a lot of change lately so he needs owners who will think very carefully before adopting him so they know they are ready for the commitment. For more info about Blue, go to https://www.kentgreyhoundrescue.com/dogs/blue-4/
During the national lockdown we can only rehome in Kent, East Sussex, Surrey, South London, East London, Essex and South Hertfordshire. This does change as the rules change so please always check our Covid statement on our Kent Greyhound rescue website. Please do not apply outside of these areas as we have to follow the Government's guidance to keep everyone safe. We can only homecheck using our key volunteers and these are the areas they cover. Once the National rules relax - our rules will follow. You need to travel to us and we need to travel to us - and we all need to keep this to an absolute minimum.
If you can apply you need to complete the online application form on our website - this is the quickest way to get a reply during lockdown.
All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated and vet checked. Most have lived in foster homes. We do ask for a donation and everything is explained in full on our website.
If you would like to give Blue a new home, please contact the rescue on 01303 271131 or 07542 795786 and ask for Julie or send an email using the form if available.
Please use the form to send a message directly to the rescue.
