Three-year-old white-and-brindle lurcher Patch has come to Forever Hounds Trust after being found straying. We’ve been spending a lot of time with him to understand his needs, and it’s clear he’s a really special boy who needs an equally special home.
Patch would be best suited to a family that has experience of bull-breeds, and who live in a quiet area where he can be walked without meeting lots of dogs. He can be overwhelmed by boisterous or rude behaviour from other dogs, and can be reactive, so would rather be the only hound in the house, and will need to be kept on lead when out and about.
This boy is a real people person though, and once he gets to know you, Patch is eager to interact and receive gentle fuss. He can be shy of handling at first, and doesn’t like enthusiastic hugging, so will be happier in an adult-only home. An active dog, he is a real foodie and should respond well to reward-based training.
Patch will need a good dose of love and understanding to help him blossom, but if you can give them to him, he will reward you with oceans of affection. Could yours be the home where he’ll get the chance of a new, sweeter life?
If you would like to give Patch a new home, please contact the rescue on 03000 125 125 Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4pm and ask for or send an email using the form if available.
