Handsome Hunter is a total people magnet, and he absolutely adores them back. This six-year-old ex-racer is prematurely grey, but we think that just adds to his noble, wise-beyond-his-years good looks and dignified demeanour!
Hunter is a real attention-seeker, but in the best possible way. He’ll calmly approach anyone, whether he knows you or not, and give you a nudge for fuss. He’s also a lean machine, and will gently shift his weight against you to get maximum human contact. Despite his love of people, he doesn’t jump up to get noticed. An expert at the ‘armpit surprise’, Hunter will stealthily appear to remind you just how loveable he is. His affection for people means he prefers not to be left alone for long periods – his new home will need help him with separation training to reduce his anxiety about being on his tod.
This joker is a bit light-pawed: if you leave anything in his vicinity, he will pick it up and merrily parade it around the kennel to show you his prize. He’s happy to swap his acquisitions for other toys or treats, as it’s all just a game to him. Hunter enjoys playing chase and tug with his fluffy toys – but he loves his food toys best. On walks, Hunter has shown his gentlemanly side, strolling at his handler’s side, stopping occasionally to survey something of interest in the distance. He enjoys walking, but would be best suited to little and often rather than a long hike.
While Hunter has shown sensible and calm greetings when meeting other dogs, we know he didn’t enjoy sharing his bed when in racing kennels, so would prefer to live as an only hound. But given how much love he has to dish out, it’ll be like having a whole pack to cuddle – and we think he deserves all of your attention! Could you make this boy the centre of your world? He’ll give you his whole heart in return.
