About Me

Beautiful Billy has already won our hearts, as you can tell from our pictures! Very affectionate, he loves human contact, and is always charming and polite: he’s a real gentle giant. Billy loves to lean in for fuss, especially under-the-neck rubs and lower back scratches, and would probably be a lap dog if he could!

This handsome four-year-old white-and-black lurcher has had a tough time of it so far. He came to us in terrible condition and the scars on his head suggest he has been a working dog in the past. But all of this only makes his loving personality all the more special.

Because of his background, Billy can be nervous around strangers, and will look to his humans for support in new situations. He would be best living with mid-older children who understand it will take time and space for him to become confident and comfortable with them – after which they’ll get all the cuddles they could ever want! Billy could live with another medium or large dog, pending introductions, and even a smaller breed if it were robust enough to cope with his enthusiasm!

Billy is a big foodie, and he’s not above a spot of counter-surfing, or even trying to open sealed containers! He doesn’t guard his snacks, however, and his love of treats and desire to please will make him really responsive to any reward-based training. He can pull on the lead when the need to investigate exciting smells overtakes him, so will need a strong arm to hold him.

We think this lovely lad deserves the chance at a forever home where he’ll be loved and appreciated for what he is: a gentle, cuddly soul. Could you give Billy the one thing he wants in all the world? A family to call his own.
