Our beautiful Holly is now ready to look for a new home but please do read the full write up! She will not be an easy pup and needs a home with experienced lurcher owners, other lurchers or energetic dogs to play with and an owner who is around all of the time with experience of separation anxiety.
Holly is just 8 months old and came into our care just before Christmas when her owners had to make the sad decision to part with her. They were working and Holly was suffering with severe separation anxiety which resulted in complaints being lodged against them to the land lord. She was both vocal and could become destructive.
Holly is still very much a baby and can be quite insecure at times. She absolutely adores other dogs and she desperately needs a home with other energetic dogs who will play with her and have a good run around off lead with her. Ideally a home with a large enough garden for her to burn some steam off whilst she learns more about recall. Anyone offering Holly a home will need to have the time on their hands to work alongside us to ensure a co dependency is not created on her new owners and instead a relationship is built with the other dogs in the home so that Holly is happy and accepting and relaxed in their company without the necessity in time to have the family in and around constantly.
Holly is housetrained and travels well, out and about on lead she walks well in the main but can be a little silly and giddy at times. This has greatly improved though, she is a clever little girl and in time may suit a home that wishes to do something like agility with her. She would also most definitely benefit from basic training classes. Holly has lived with a chihuahua in the past and was fine with them and has been good with all dogs she has met. She has no experience of cats, we feel that a cat free home would probably be best unless extremely experienced with the breed as she will have enough to handle learning about breaking co dependencies without her playful nature and chase instincts with a feline in the home also needing addressing.
Holly will be fine to live with dog sensible children 8 plus. Although she is great with children we feel children too young would not have the understanding needed to stop over indulging her and making a fuss as she is very hard at times to ignore. Too much high energy sees her jumping quite high and any excited tone ramps her up even more.
Holly is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and is spayed. She is currently located in kennels in Stoke on Trent and any family wishing to offer her a home would need to be willing to travel to meet her along with any members of the immediate family and any resident dogs.
