Eros is one of our Macau dogs and not only is he a Canidrome survivor he was actually born in there so at 3 years of age until he came to us last year it was all he knew.
Eros' journey with us has been a hell of a journey. He landed a young feral boy who had no ability to contain his behaviour, no impulse control and had we rushed him into a home he would have been the very definition of a ping pong dog and we know that he would have repeatedly bounced back. You see Eros is a dog dog. He loves other dogs and he absolutely could not cope being rehomed as an only dog but with his over zealous behaviour and out of control boisterousness other dogs did not reciprocate his feelings and unfortunately every encounter he had he was too much for other dogs and they were horrified, terrified or annoyed by him.
Over the last 12 months we have worked hard to help Eros mature, to socialise, to calm down and to understand that boundaries and impulse control are imperative if you want your friends to actually be your friend. He is still full of over zealous joy de vive when he first leaves the kennel but now settles beautiful and enjoys his walks alongside and with the other dogs. More importantly now they enjoy their walks alongside and with him and they have become more accepting. Eros is now finally *one of the gang*.
Eros needs a patient understanding home with a family who has someone around all or most of the time in the main to help him settle. His life has been so sheltered and accelerated learning in a home environment is going to be something he needs support with. He absolutely must have a calm mature female hound in there who is kind but also willing to tell him when enough is enough.
Eros is SO ready now to take that next step of his journey and hopefully his final step onto that forever loving sofa he deserved. A victim of incarceration he has shown a willingness and ability to learn to adapt to being a much loved pet and he now deserves that chance.
Eros can not be rehomed with cats or small furries and any children in the home would need to be 8 plus and sensible. He travels like a dream and out on walks is now calm in the main but he does still have the occasional wappy moment.
Eros is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, neutered, microchipped and has received a dental. He will also be rehomed with a months free insurance from Petplan.
Eros is currently located in Stoke on Trent but can be rehomed nationally subject to a successful homevisit and all members of the immediate family and any resident dogs being willing to travel to meet with him.
