Lively Opal is a three-year-old hound who came to us described as a saluki-cross, although we see a lot of azawakh in this girl with her big paws, sandy colouring and sleek lines. Opal is a friendly, active girl who enjoys the company of people she knows. She’s happy to say hello to new folk, but it can take her a little while to warm to them.
This energetic girl really enjoys her walks: she’s always keen to go, and loves to explore off the beaten track and snoop through the woods. If she spots a squirrel, she’s liable to bounce up and down in excitement! Opal is happy to greet dogs she meets out and about, although she’s not keen on rude greetings and will tell them off if they’re over the top. She lived in a home before she came to us, where she had canine pals of various breeds and sizes and loved to play with them. She’s not cat friendly, however, and a strong hand will be needed on the lead if she spots one. A confident lass, Opal seems fine when left alone in kennels, so should be okay to be on her own at home for a few hours once she’s settled in. This beautiful girl’s last home didn’t work out, and before that she was straying on the streets of London. Could you give her the chance to finally have a forever home? She’ll have those big old paws under your table and up on your sofa in no time!
