A very kind woman, working at an animal shelter in Rhodes, got in touch many months ago, asking if we could help home this beautiful Galgo girl.
Ella had been abandoned and had been straying for some time. She was starved, dehydrated and very scared. It took a number of days to get her to safety. But her journey to health and a better life had begun. The lady who found Ella, visited her most days, and helped Ella gain confidence and soon Ella had made a friend. She was very pleased to see her friend and their friendship and trust grew. Soon it was time for Ella to make the daunting journey to the UK.
Ella is an incredibly striking and elegant hound, with a beautiful spotty belly! She is about 2 years old. She is adapting to home life very well and is in foster with four other sighthounds and gets on well with all of them. She is a playful girl and loves to zoom about the garden.
Ella's confidence has really grown and she is now happy to come up for a fuss and curl up next to you on the sofa.
She is now able to go on walks with her foster fur siblings. She likes quiet places and walks very gently on the lead.
Ella needs a gentle home, with another sighthound or two, with people around quite a bit until she settles. People who will give her time to trust them and bond. She is now looking for her forever home, where she can continue to blossom.
No children. And no cats.
In foster in Essex.
UPDATE 21 MARCH 2020 - Due to the current COVID 19 Pandemic we feel it is only right that we suspend all adoptions until the danger is over. All our dogs are in foster homes and we cannot risk any of our foster homes possibly becoming ill through exposure to visitors.
Just as soon as we are able to we will once again be homing and ask you all to be patient during this most trying of times.
If you would like to give Ella a new home, please contact the rescue on and ask for Laurie or send an email using the form if available.
Please use the form to send a message directly to the rescue.
