Saluki cross Ollie is now ready to find a forever home of his own. Ollie was found abandoned with a very seriously broken back leg. The original orthopedic surgeon who he saw in Lincolnshire said nothing could be done and the leg would need amputating but we asked to get him to Alan Mayo at Nantwich and to see what he could do. Thankfully for Ollie Alan not only saved the leg but you would never know it had been broken.
Ollie is around 2 years old and requires a home with a female greyhound or lurcher, he is great with other dogs in the main but not as good with males and does still need some socialisation with other breeds of dogs. If Ollie were to be rehomed as an only dog it would need to be to a home with someone around all of the time to begin with and whilst he learned to be independent and adapt to being left alone. He is NOT cat friendly and needs to be rehomed with dog savy children 6 years and upwards.
Out and about Ollie walks well in the main but is a typical saluki x Prince and doesn't like to get his feet muddy so will hurtle over pools of water and mud which has been interesting to say the least whilst we have been trying to calming re introduce exercise. Travelling wise he does need to experience a little more moving too and fro in the car, he can get a little anxious and sicky in the van but did travel better in an actual car as opposed to our rescue van where he cant see you. Ollie is housetrained and good to be left with the company of other dogs for a few hours at a time.
Ollie is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, neutered and has received a dental. He will also be rehomed with 1 months free insurance. Ollies leg has healed wonderfully but we do ask that any new owner is in agreement that should anything ever go wrong with the leg in the future god forbid they would undertake to travel to us here and allow us to cover the costs back under Alan Mayo his original surgeon.
Ollie is currently located in Stoke on Trent but can be rehomed nationally subject to a successful homevisit being carried out and all members of the immediate family travelling to meet with him.
