This handsome chap is four-year-old Parker, an ex-racing greyhound who is now looking for somewhere to put up his paws. Having raced 70 times, we think he deserves a comfy bed and plenty of love!
Parker doesn’t know much about the world outside the racetrack, and will need a quiet, understanding home where he can continue to come out of his shell, and learn what it means to be a pet. Probably due to lack of handling during his career, he is aloof when meeting new people, and takes time to show affection – but often these are the dogs who love the deepest. Parker is very polite and sociable with the other hounds in kennels, and could live with another large breed, but care will have to be taken around small dogs until he gets more used to them, and learns that they are not for chasing.
Parker walks well on the lead, and is keen to get out and about in places he knows. His confidence will grow with slow introductions to new experiences. He can pull if he gets excited, so a strong hand will be needed to hold his lead.
We think Parker is the very model of a retired gentleman, and will make a fantastic addition to a greyhound-loving home. Could your sofa become his?
