The beautiful Dolly came to us here at Greyhound Gap around 3 weeks ago with the hugest mammory tumour you can imagine the size of a grapefruit. The tumour had already started to break down and rot and she needed urgent emergency surgery to remove it via our specialist veterinary hospital. The good news is that although the tumour was malignant at intermediate level the prognosis is that 96 per cent of dogs survive a year after its removal and 76 per cent 2 years. As Dolly is around 10 years old that means there is a good chance she will continue on to have a normal life expectancy. However as we had good margins and there is skin left should we be unlucky enough for it to re appear we may be able to surgical remove it again giving her yet more time. Due to this we would like to find Dolly a home either within an hour of our vets in Nantwich or with a home fully committed to understanding should it re occur we would expect them to travel to allow us to carry the treatment back out at Nantwich at our expense.
Dolly is a poppet now she is pain free and believe me she was in huge amounts of pain. She is up to mischief bossing the other dogs around and attempting to get them to play and chase her. She has the sweetest temperement with people and is cheeky and cuddly. Dolly is clean and easy to settle, she is happy to use a crate if necessary and has been in one whilst recovering from her surgery. We feel she would either need a home with someone around all or most of the time for companionship and to spoil her for all of the time she has remaining and not leave her for long periods of time or with other dogs who will both play with her and rest with her as companions. Dolly is not cat friendly and can be rehomed with dog savy children 10 plus.
Dolly is currently in Stoke on Trent and will be rehomed subject to a successful homevisit and all members of the immediate family and any resident dogs being willing to travel to meet with her.
Dolly is spayed, vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed and is microchipped.
