Betsy is our other dear little girl rescued from terrible conditions in China. The Canidrome greyhound track was branded as the deadliest greyhound track in the world over seven years ago when animal protection group Animals Australia were made aware of the awful conditions the greyhounds were kept in and the fact under-performing young greyhounds were killed there and no greyhound ever left the place alive. Betsy is the sweetest greyhound with a greying face and lovely kind eyes and is now seeking a forever home of her own. Betsy is 5 years old.
Location: Betsy is currently in boarding kennels in Suffolk until a loving foster home or forever home becomes available. She would love a foster home while she waits for her forever family. We are very stuck for foster homes right now so any help that you can give at all would be hugely appreciated.
Key Points: Lovely girl with beautiful soft eyes, confident, friendly, loves cuddles and meeting people. Very good on lead and in car.
~ Personality ~
Betsy is very loving and affectionate and adores cuddles. She is a very kind dog who we feel will absolutely thrive once in her forever home.
~ In the Home ~
Sadly Betsy has never been in a home but she tries to keep her kennel as clean as possible and is a clever girl who loves treats so will enjoy learning with the right guidance and kindness.
~ Other Animals ~
Betsy is great with other dogs but will pull slightly on the lead if she sees a cat so cat free homes only please.
~ Out and About ~
Betsy loves her walks and is very good in the car and on the lead.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general Greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Betsy is a lovely kind dog who will happily fit in to most family situations but would prefer to have someone around most of the time to guide with toilet training and to give her lots of cuddles! Please note that you will be required to travel to Suffolk to meet and collect her. Also please be aware we do not home to families with children under 8 years of age.
~ Where Am I? ~
Betsy is currently patiently waiting in boarding kennels in Suffolk for her forever home or a foster home to show her the ropes. If anyone feels they could foster Betsy to help her on her journey to a forever home, please give us a call for an informal chat. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Betsy will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed. A home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure. RESERVED
