Elliot is a beautiful white boy with a black patch over one ear and eye who was rescued from the Canidrome in Macau, China. The Canidrome greyhound track was branded as the deadliest greyhound track in the world over seven years ago when animal protection group Animals Australia were made aware of the awful conditions the greyhounds were kept in and the fact under-performing young greyhounds were killed there and no greyhound ever left the place alive. Eliott has the most, dear little face and will literally melt your heart when you meet him. He is 6 years old and is quite small for a male greyhound.
Location: Elliot is currently in boarding kennels in Suffolk until a foster home or his forever home is found. He would love a foster home while he waits for his forever family. We are very stuck for foster homes right now so any help that you can give at all would be hugely appreciated.
Key Points: Beautiful boy, loves everyone, playful, happy, friendly, good in the car, great on the lead.
~ Personality ~
Elliot is an absolute sweetie who is incredibly affectionate and happy. He just adores people and deserves the absolute best in life considering his life so far. He is blossoming more and more every day and will make a kind family or couple a wonderful companion.
~ In the Home ~
Sadly, Elliot has never had the chance to be in a home but tries very hard to keep his kennel clean and we think will get the hang of toilet training quickly with the right guidance and patience.
~ Other Animals ~
Elliot has a lovely kind temperament and is very good with other dogs although he prefers similar gentle dogs and not too much “in his face”. Elliot has not been cat tested to date.
~ Out and About ~
Elliot is great in the car and on the lead and loves being out and about meeting new people. He isn’t bothered by traffic or loud noises and just loves being with you!
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general Greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Elliot would fit into most families but would prefer someone to be around most of the time to guide him with toilet training and giving him the time to settle and show what an amazing boy he is. Please note that you will be required to travel to Suffolk to meet and collect him. Also please be aware we do not home to families with children under 8 years of age.
~ Where Am I? ~
Elliot is currently waiting patiently in a boarding kennel in Suffolk. If anyone feels they could foster Elliot to help him on his journey to a forever home, please give us a call for an informal chat. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Elliot is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead, wormed and has had a dental. A home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
