Norman is desperately seeking a home of his own with a family who have time for ongoing training, he would be fab at agility. He is a beautiful male lurcher of approximately 4 years of age and 27” to the shoulder and has a beautiful glossy black coat and matching white tuxedo and front paws.
Location: Norman is staying with his current family in Norfolk until the right home becomes available..
Key Points: Beautiful shiny black lurcher, VERY friendly and loving once he gets to know you, but this must be taken slowly, he is clean in the home, good in the car.
~ Personality ~
Norman can be a complex little lad as he feels his job is to protect his house, car and garden and needs someone to help him realise that he doesn’t need to take on this responsibility anymore. His new family must be dedicated to training and have previous experience of lurchers. He is very responsive to clicker training and treats as he’s such a bright lad and incredibly loving when he knows you and feels safe with you.
~ In the Home ~
Norman is a very good boy in the home. He is clean and sleeps through the night with no problems and asks to be let out.
~ Other Animals ~
Norman has been living with two other dogs but can be dominant with other males so would be best suited to being an only dog or having a gentle and easy going female. Norman is unfortunately not cat or small furry friendly.
~ Out and About ~
Norman is a typical high energy lurcher so will need approximately 2 hours exercise every day to keep him happy and content. Norman has been off lead with his current family but always muzzled and in a safe enclosed area away from livestock and roads. Letting dogs off lead must only ever be done once bonded which can take even years to establish and must never be rushed.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Norman will best suit a lurcher experienced family, couple or single person who have the time to work with him and let him blossom. We feel he would be better homed as an only dog or with an easy going female. He would benefit hugely from training classes/agility. Please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect him. Also please be aware we do not home to families with children under 8 years of age but Norman will ideally be homed in an adult only home.
~ Where Am I? ~
Norman is currently with his family in Norfolk.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Norman is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
