Humphrey is a beautiful lurcher boy, super friendly personality and very happy around people whether men or women, he loves a fuss from anyone.
Humphrey is a big lurcher lad so would probably be best NOT to be with small children who can get knocked over easily! There is no malice, he’s just a big lurcher boy with a massive enthusiasm for life!
With other dogs, he is very gentle and quiet when approaching other dogs whether in kennel or out on a lead on a walk, lots of waggy tails etc. and no problems at all in meeting and greeting nicely.
In the cattery assessment he was quite interested in those small furry creatures, and he did look at the cats for quite a while – he would probably chase given the chance, but in a savvy and sensible home, it might work – perhaps best to err on the side of caution though!
If encouraged, he likes to play, not a big fan of chasing a ball, but he does quite like soft toys – his favourite past time though is counter surfing in good lurcher stylee as we found out when he got into the food store at kennels! He is a tall lad when he stands up, so no shelf is safe – but those of you with lurcher experience will no doubt be fully aware!
Please be aware that Humphrey loves food! Really loves his food! No aggression or guarding but be warned he will check pockets, jump for it etc. but nothing malicious. This is another reason why Humphrey is best to not be rehomed with small children as they will be easily mugged by this gorgeous lurcher boy!
He loves being stroked and cuddled bless him, no areas to worry about at all, great on the lead, walks nicely, no pulling – unless of course there is a treat a little further up the street!
Not concerned at all in traffic or by the noise enjoyed going out in the car for a little drive around, no hesitation in jumping in to see where the adventure was taking him.
He can settle quietly, loves a snuggle and is a relaxed boy in kennels at the moment.
What a sweet, gentle, loving, kind dog he is. Doesn’t answer to his name but that will come in time…or maybe he has another one that he prefers! He is a real treasure and just seems to take things in his stride. Would recommend ongoing socialising to keep him happy and to ensure that gardens are lurcher safe, and counters are clear! RESERVED
