This little beaut is the stunning Robyn. You could not wish to meet a nicer, sweeter but currently somewhat shy little girl.
Robyn is a breath takingly beautiful silver brindle colour and the photos really do not do her justice as the weather was terrible and it was late afternoon when taking them but even still you can see how pretty she is.
When landing with us Robyn was terrified and shut down and would not approach us. She is obviously not use to much human contact and affection BUT we have doubled Robyn up with Hastings one of our beautiful male greyhounds who is a very sweet boy. Since doing that she has come on in leaps and bounds, she is still a little reserved but taking Hastings lead and approaching us now for fuss and cuddles. We do feel its imperative for Robyn to be rehomed with another dog or dogs she is good with females also so could easily slip into a mixed pack. She gets her confidence from the other dogs and it makes all the difference. We believe in a quiet home environment she will begin to continue forward with her journey to being a cheeky greyhound minx!
Robyn does have an injury to her front wrist. We have had it x rayed AND the x ray looked at by Alan Mayo the top orthopaedic specialist based at Nantwich veterinary hospital. Sadly it is an old fracture that has not healed the best but Alan feels currently that this will cause more of an issue attempting to rebreak and re set but sadly it does already show some arthritic changes. Robyn did have a slight limp when landing with us but we now have her on loxicom and she is walking much better and much happier on the wrist. She will need low dose pain killers though for the rest of her life especially through the wetter and colder months but don't let this put you off as Greyhound Gap WILL continue to pay for this if needed for the rest of her days. Due to the wrist injury she may be better placed in a greyhound only home with people who are not hung up on mammoth treks of walks everyday. We also have a bioflow collar on her that seems to have helped and this will go with her when rehomed. If in future any further action was required on the wrist Greyhound Gap would cover the cost as long as any new family was willing to commit to her coming to our own specialists here in Cheshire.
Robyn walks like a dream on lead, she is great with every other dog she meets and just adores being around them. She is so naturally curious when in other dogs prescence and desperate to learn and please and this will transfer to humans in no time. Robyn works really hard to keep her kennel clean so we don't envisage once settling in nerves pass house training being an issue as she is so naturally clean. We feel a child free or older child 10 plus home would be best for this sweet little lady as young children or children running around or being excitable would be to much for her to deal with. Robyn also travels like a dream.
Robyn is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, spayed and microchipped and has had a dental. She is currently with us in Stoke on Trent and any family wishing to adopt her would need to commit to visiting her with all members of the immediate family and any resident dogs.
