This little lad came so very close to loosing his life. He was found straying and was petrified and at the time hit out at the dog warden, then the vet and then would not let the pound staff near him. They felt he was to much of a risk to rehome direct to the public so called us in for a second opinion and to see if we could help. I visited the pound and he really was not happy with me being there at first as he was really not happy at being in a kennel. You could see this little one had had a really rough time. Within an hour he was all over me and we left and from that second on he has not been a seconds bother and just ADORES PEOPLE!
Knowing this lad had had such a tough time we moved him immediately into foster and he has flourished! He is great with other dogs and lives to annoy the older bitch he is currently on foster with but all in good fun. He adores his foster parents and has been fabulous at the vets, out on walks he loves everyone and everything he meets. Omar really needs a home with another dog and a young playful mischievious bitch would be ideal. He is still very much a puppy and a puppy thats had a dire start. He loves toys, he loves playing and is good to be left now for 3 or 4 hours with the company of the other dog in his home and he is also housetrained and clean when left. The only thing that worries this little lad now is rough handling or sometimes moving by the collar. The foster home are using rewards based food to ask him to come, get off etc and he loves learning. Omar travels well and is a good boy out and about on the lead. Even though Omar has been totally fine whilst in our care we are being sensible though and due to his upset at the time of being lose Omar will not be rehomed with children under 13 years of age.
Sadly Omars foster home can only keep this lad for another month due to family commitments and we really do not want to see him back in kennels. We would like to find him his perfect home as soon as or another foster home willing to take him if necessary in a few weeks. Going back into kennels at this point of time would undo all the settling he has had.
Omar is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and neutered. If you are interested in offering this very lucky, very lovely special little poppet a home please complete the pre adoption questionnaire below. He is currently in the West Midlands but can be rehomed anywhere subject to a successful homevisit being carried out
