About Me

Poor Chuckie is currently with us in kennels and is struggling to settle after joining us from a home that he had been in for 7 years. Sadly due to oestarthritis of his elderly owner she could no longer manage Chuckie out on walks.

Chuckie is a typical shepherd cross lurcher. I live with this cross, I adore this cross you will never met a more loyal loving dog! However, typically shepherd they do not do well in kennels especially dogs such as Chuckie that have known good loving homes. Do not be fooled by his age! Chuckie is still a big strong dog who absolutely loves his excercise and more than that his people...... Again as is typically shepherd they do best in a settled stable environment.

Chuckie has been good with the other dogs at the kennels but has not been overly socialised. He also still needs a little work on his lead manners and we feel that this was let slide by his last home due to it getting harder to handle Chuckies needs. Once out and walking though he settles down beautifully and he is said to be good off lead if not slightly selectively deaf when it suits him. He also travels well and is housetrained and good to be left for short periods once settled into a home.

Chuckies ideal home would be with an early retired couple looking to enjoy one dog that they can take with them where ever they go! He would also adapt to living with a slightly older sensible female companion. The family also had a visiting Staffie female who Chuckie got on well with. He is great with children and has been round them regularly we do feel though due to his size older dog savy children 8 plus would be best suited.

Poor Chuckie really does hate being in a kennel enviornment and is not getting chance to show himself off well! He really, really needs an understanding home, one with previous shepherd experience would be great or someone who is use to a larger lurcher boy.

This boy will really shine in the right home! He will be heart dog. Those of us who love and live with the shepherd lurchers know what a rewarding and loyal cross they are and would not wish for any other cross given the choice. They are heart dogs, plain and simple!

I really hope someone looks past the fact that Chuckie is moving into his twilight years and sees him for what he is a slightly more mature boy but with the heart and soul and energy of a youngster still!

Chuckie is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and castrated.

Chuckie is currently in kennels in Stoke on Trent. Anyone wishing to adopt Chuckie must commit to travelling to Stoke to meet him.

In the first instance if you are interested in offering this wonderful boy a home please complete the pre adoption questionnaire below....
